My 72 F100 at idle.
Hey gang, here is a quick video of my f100 at idle. The fuel pump dies at the end. It runs but isn't pumping so I guess I will have to tear in to it tomorrow.

Sounds nice.
Is it me, or does it look like your key is in the accy position? Run is usually at about 2 o'clock. Yours is at 10 o'clock. Am I whacked out or what?

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
It could be in the wrong place I don't know lOL. It is straight across 3 and 9 with the key out. When you turn it to run it is at the 4 and 10 position and to start it is at the 5 and 11 position. I don't know where it is supposed to be, just always thought it was normal.

Well, originally they are up/down when key out. Not a problem, just seemed odd and thought you had a unique switch.

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
What is funny is I would probably have a hard time and be fumbling around then if it were in the stock position. I never would have thought it could be moved.

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
I forgot to mention too that I got the fuel pump going again. The outlet line came loose at the AN fitting and the pump lost it's prime. She is all fixed now and hopefully at the end of the week I will have it washed up and get a better video of it and try and take some video while driving.

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
Nice ride. Sounds great. The key is definately pointing wrong, but hey, it works. I am curious about engine mods done. I like the sound at idle. It is a little rougher idle thanmy 302. I plan to cam mine soon, so I want duration/lift ideas.

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
I wish I would have went with 2 chamber flowmasters, the lope would have sounded better. I have the 3 1/2" exhaust dumped right in front of the back axle and it kind of all drones together and it is deep. Here are all the specs on the motor.
351 windsor stroked to a 398
forged aluminum flat top pistons / 11:1 compression ratio
main girdle
quick fuel Q950 dp
super victor intake, ported and matched to heads
trick flow high ports / ported and polished / 2.08 intake / 1.60 exhaust
solid rollers
1.6 harland sharp roller rockers
valve stud girdle
2" primary full length headers / 3 1/2" collector
CSR electric water pump
msd pro billet dizzy
msd 6al digital
The cam is a comp cams 286R on a billet core. The specs on the cam are:
248 @ 50 on the intake
254 @ 50 on the exhaust
.621 lift
18* initial and 36* total
Powermaster 140 amp one wire alt. (best thing I have done yet)
I also had to get the moroso alternator bracket to drop the alt low enough for the belt to clear the water pump.
We are hoping for 500hp to the wheels but I don't know with the c6. Should be close to 620-645 at the flywheel. If it ends up not being enough to get the truck in the high 10's I am going to put the 200 shot on it. I need to do the rear first before it makes it to the strip. I also have the original cam which will eventually go back in it once I get the money to get a 4500 stall but that thing was 279 @ 50 on the duration and .692 lift.

Very nice. If you want to go to Flowmasters next, what are you running now?

Re: My 72 F100 at idle.
Right now it is 3 1/2" from collector back through dynomax race bullets and they turn down right in front of the rear axle. I like the way it sounds but it is a little too deep and the lope of the cam is kind of hidden from the exhaust being muffled under the truck. I would like to put 3 1/2" 2 chambers on it and have it exit at 45 in front of the rear tires. The truck lopes enough that you can see the truck rocking but the sound isn't there. Although as you walk around the truck certain spots end up not being mumbled as much.

Nice truck and sounds good too. I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice.

Hey since he's moving within 2 miles of me he has no excuse now not to swing by someday and disturb my neighbors.

LOL that's too funny but true. We are so anxious to move. I still have alot of work to get the truck back together and I don't think I am going to get it back together in time for the ford nats.
