6x6 army truck
My boss at work bought one of these thru a GSA auction back in June & he finally got all of the bugs worked out of it. We took it for a little spin around the ammo plant the other night. I had no idea these trucks were as stout as they are. It will climb over damn near anything. I would love to have one to play in...
He gave $3700 bucks for it. needed new belts, hoses & tires. It has a 3116 CAT & a auto in it.

Those rigs are amazing. I have always wanted one. Maybe some day. I always thought that either a custom Bumpside or Dendside stretched to a 6-Door Cab with an extended bed would be cool. Nice find.

Re: 6x6 army truck
Last summer, I was out campin' in my '68...
The guy in the camp across the road had one that was fully restored, so I had to go admire it of course..
Come to find out the guy actually had 7 of them...
The most expensive one he paid $1000 for.
So if any one is interested in them check out the GSA sales, he said that they come up from time to time.
I did find one I really wanted, but couldn't come up with the cash fast enough.
It was listed as a '67, (I even saw the registration), it was definately a '66 slick style cab duece and a half..
It was in increadibly good condition. It didn't have anything behind the cab except the frame.
It was powered by a 391FT w/a 5 speed tranny and a two speed rear end.
The guy fired it up and it purred like a kitten... man I wanted that truck... he only wanted $2500...
The cab and interior were flawless.

Re: 6x6 army truck
Dang that ol' boy is mad at the insurance co. & his prices are sky-high as well.
My boss had his picked out years before he bought it. It was one of the trucks they rebuilt for the Gulf War & they kept it on base. It never saw Iraq. I think the tranny is an Allison, but im not sure.... It has that Allison whine to it when it takes off.
Awsome trucks.

Can you imagine one used as a flatbed tow truck?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
