Cam,
Desired usage
Weight

Tire size?
All of it is needed to even get in the ball park.

yes, we need all that info to get you the right number...
although I would say for what I would consider a modded stocker, somewhere around 1800-2400, depending on idle (need that too).

I'll be putting it behind a 390 FE but haven't picked a cam out yet. Something slightly over stock as I am building it for torque. It will be running 4.10's on 35".
I've always been a manual trans guy but I'm going to give the C6 a shot this time around so looking for some input.

thats real close to our truck..454, TH400, and 4.10's with 33's. It used to haul a 5000+ pound race trailer, it's convertor is rated somewhere round 2200. But it's bone stock except headers, i'd say for your truck being as close as it is would be around 2400 or 2500. But thats my opinion.

I'd pick the cam then decide on the converter.
Guessing a TCI Sat Night Special would be a good choice if you stay mild on the cam.
In fact, a stock one might be fine depending on the cam.
