In case anyone is wondering I still have the truck. I sprayed some more flat back over the unfinished body work. Went and bought a few bags of mulch and got a new inspection sticker. I threw in 20 bags of mulch and bottomed out the rear suspension, rode on the frame rails on the way back home. That was brutal, I should really start working on the rear.

I am very happy with my IRS. I have full suspension travel coupled with the drop. Of course the other option in your shoes is notching the chassis. Am I certain my truck would hold 20 bags of mulch? No I am not. I use the 4x4 for things like that. On a second note what do you do in TX if your vehicle will not pass the inspection? I am looking at a position with a company in San Antonio but with no wipers I assume my truck would not pass inspection down there. IN has no inspection so while I am required to have wipers it's not a big deal like an annual inspection would be.

Just safety inspection, no emissions tests for anything over 25 years old. Funny thing is this year they didnt pop the hood or anything, just depends on the place.

I hauled a flathead Ford home in mine and I was bumpin' the bumpstops on the bumps in my bump! It doesn't like to 'work' much anymore but I now have a '95 F150 to do dirty deeds so I can officially retire the '69 now!

Your truck looks SO awesome! I totally dig it! Keep up the great work! I have DJM beams with '75 discs up front and flipped hangers in the back for now...I want to add a Must. II or CV IFS along with a 4-link or IRS someday but it suits me for now. I also want to straighten up the sheet metal and paint it too but the satin black has really grown on me and I think it will stay that way but with a good quality paint with UV protection and shot from my gun. I might have to get some big 20" rims too but I want to keep my red steelies to swap back and forth depending on my mood!

Is there any type of waiver? When I was in CA many yrs ago if you didn't pass inspection you just had to take it back every 3 mos. They would issue a paper that gave you the ability to drive the vehicle for those 3 mos. Yes I paid 4 times for an inspection but at the same time I never bought plates.

I had a cracked headlight once that failed inspection due to moisture and I think they gave me something like 15 days to get it fixed. I remember being pissed about it because I thought I was good to go since I paid and everything.

You will also notice if you move here that there is a lot of cars that are unfit for the road.... they get their stickers a little differently. if you go to a hot rod shop (which is plentiful here) they will point you to a place to find you a sticker. I dont think they will fail you if you go to small shops though.

Mine is choice. I shaved the wipers since it is just our toy. I like the look without them. Not on an everyday vehicle but for a "only on nice day" type I am ok. I get no problems from police here. Most just want to look the truck over with a bunch of questions. To me it's just a common sense thing. Common sense would say I will not be driving something I have this much work into when conditions would be dangerous for me. I just don't want stuck without the ability to enjoy my truck. I guess I could always just maintain an IN registration on it.

You could register your truck as an antique. You will be exempt from inspection, but i think you can only drive it so many miles a year. If they dont inspect it than how will they know how far you drove anyway?
