Oil Pressure
What would be the normal operating oil pressure for FE 390 engines? Idling? Highway speed?

Re: Oil Pressure
I think there is a wide range that is deemed as acceptable depending on engine condition. My opinion would roughly be 15-60 psi anything out of that range would make me raise and eyebrow.

Re: Oil Pressure
I have a 72 F250 with a 360. The oil pressure runs between 40 and 60.

General rule of thumb. 10 psi for every 1000 rpm

Re: Oil Pressure
ZERO-5 PSI LOL!
My 360 ran the last 3-4 years of it's life, (before I dropped the built and bored 302 in it) on 5 PSI of oil pressure, (at idle stopped at red lights).
The FE will take a lot...more abuse than most folks can even imagine, just make sure to keep plenty of oil in it!
