Good stuff to know. I read an article a few years ago and they were doing some real world dyno pulls. It was amazing at how pathetic some of the numbers were at the rear wheels. One was a healthy street 302 in a 65 Comet ragtop. It had ps. a/c. C6 and a 9 inch and I think had like half the horsepower at the wheels as it the guy thought he had.
The C6 is a power sucking pig and has no place in a street driven small block. Even our endeared 9 inch, by design, has more parasitic drain than other rear ends. The low pinion placement that makes it strong also sucks power.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

wow, I thought it was just 20% loss.
My 418 put 498 at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno.

That 650hp at the crank with 30% loss.

Yep, 390hp at the tires in 90` heat on a dynojet 248c... Must have done something right.
