Is there a torque value? I removed the bracket so I could remove the fresh air vent. I reattached the brake, but am wondering if it gets torqued, or some sort of thread lock. Probably not a problem, but just wondering.
The previous owner must have parked under something like a willow tree. I must have raked enough leaves out of the vent to fill 2 one gallon paint cans. Trying to get the interior stripped down to the basics to get it ready for paint.

re: Torque on parking brake bracket?
Man, this is one area where Ford engineers really dropped the ball. They really should have tack-welded a screen on the underside of the cowl vents, like most other cars have. Of course, it would had to have been done prior to the individual cab components assembly, but sure would have eliminated a lot of the rust problems these trucks have. I've been trying to figure out a way of doing that myself, but haven't come up with anything that didn't involve major surgery. I've heard of some people who cut a sheet of that thin magnetic material to use as a cover for the cowl vents, to keep out debris and to keep it in place. You could even leave it on there when you go out driving...of course you wouldn't have any air circulation from the vents inside the cab with the cover on. But in the winter, that might be a plus!
I don't think there are any specific torque values for the e-brake assembly. I'd just tighten it up snug and call it good.
