help creating avatar

Can somebody give me some pointers on how to create an avatar? I'd like to use the picture of the towtruck in my gallery if possible. I just can't seem to figure it out. I have the pictures on photobucket also if that helps. Thanks for the help

You have to reduce the size to fit in an 80x80 pixel area... Is this the one your after? I resized it to fit.

Thanks Thunderfoot. That looks pretty good. How do I make that my avatar? I'll try rereading the post on creating an avatar that Keith posted. Thanks again guys

You’ll have to download / save that picture I did on to your computer and then if you look up to the left upper of this page you will see “User Control Panel” click on it, then pick the “Profile” tab and on the left of it you will see “Edit avatar” there is where you will upload the image from your computer.

Hey guys, another person in need of some help with their avatar. I resized it to 80x80 and it said the file size was still to big. what do I do? please help....

I just ran it through Paint Shop Pro Photo to reduce the jpeg file size...
