What kind of problems will I have??

Post by FordTruck »

I might be getting a 71 4x4 frame with no motor/trans. And I was wondering how much headache will I have putting my 300 with an NP435 in the 4x4 frame?? The main thing I'm not shure about is how does the trans connect to the t-case?? All I really know about it now is that it has a divorce t-case. Witch would be easier to install an NP435 or a C6??

:help: 4x4 stuff is WAY over my head.

from what little i know about the np435 and a divoreced case. is that it has a small ujointed driveshaft. that hooks the np435 and the divorced transfer case. i think you can just put them together like that. that may be the same way the c6 is too. i dont know i havent seen one in a long time. i cant remember.

The 2wd 435 and 300 six will drop right in. You must find a short shaft C6 and musta also come up with 4x4 auto steering column (not simple) to use an auto in a divorced case highboy.

Thanks averagef250. Now I just have to decide if I want to use my 300 or 302. I'm thinking a 300 with an NP435 would make a good combo for a 4x4 truck.
