The "WALKTHROUGH" Category

Just something I thought about the other day. What do you think about a Category that is walkthroughs that members have done. Robroy has done a few but they are spread through many pages and posts. I did my fan and would have done more pictures and stuff but it would take away from my project posts. I know there are pitfalls with differing opinions on how things are done "RIGHT" but it would be a great resource. How can I help?

In a Datsun 240z publication that I read, they do something similar to that, except instead of calling it "the right way" or "the best way" or "the only way", they call it "how one guy did it".

How do I convert over to an electric fan? - This is how one guy did it. - "How One Guy Converted to an Electric Fan" - It is a pure write up with pictures of how it got done. If I recall correctly, the specific author is kept anonymous and the topic is closed to comments.

I like the idea of "How one guy did it" I would like anonymous an option of the poster. So one could be PM'ed with questions if they choose to be known.

Check the "BumpWiki" http://www.fordification.com/bumpwiki/i ... egory:Help It was set up as a place to do "How I did it/How to do it" tutorials, you can find more info on how to post to it in the BumpWiki forum here http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 64&t=39399 It is more open in that others can edit it though...
The other way is just to put together how you did it and put it in the forum that the subject mater matches like others have done, most people look in the defined Topic Sections for the info they are looking for and wouldn't look in a separate area that had everything all mixed into it.

Course no matter What/Where/How the info is put/managed in the forums people need to use the Search Function to help them find the info easier.

This is actually sort of like I was hoping to get some participation on the FAQ's (see the announcement in the engine forum) and it was my intent to lock them. I'm not sure we can post them anonymously but it is something we could look into.
