This crew has been posted on Craigslist at least 10 times over the past 6 months. I considered it but ended up getting my crew for $2400, so I passed on this one. It does not look like a bad buy, but would probably be better priced at around $2400 - 2600. I never went and looked at it in person, but the pictures look pretty good. And he seems to be pretty honest about it disclosing the small rust areas in the floor.

yeah it really doesnt look like a bad gig. Its a running driving and registered ready to go functioning crewcab bump. kinda suprised no one has taken it home. wonder if he is firm on the price cause I would have thought somebody would have flashed $2500 at him by now.

I think SoCalCraigster contacted him and the guy is NOT firm on the price, but Craig has enough projects already and decided against adding another one. But it definately is a decent buy for anyone looking for a CC bump. There are a LOT worse out there.

I'm just guessing here, but I think this was the post from the previous owner. http://www.oldfordcrewcabs.com/market/v ... php?id=248

One of the posts from this latest owner that I came across in the last few weeks mentioned that it has a salvage title. That might not matter to some people but I know I want a clean title on my crew cab. Having said that, I previously had a 65 Mustang with a salvage title. I spent a lot of time and money fixing it up as a teenager and ended up getting $8k for it, which was market price at the time.

I think I remember seeing a while ago in one of his previous adds that it was a salvage title, but am not 100% sure. I am not sure that a salvage on a bump era crew cab is really going to effect the value though because of the rarity of the truck. The fact that there are so few old crew cabs on the road will pretty much make any fixed up crew the same value as a non-salvaged one. Any of these trucks still on the road went though some work somewhere along the way, and any non-salvaged truck probably went through just as much work as a salvaged one after 40+ years.

Anyone buying one of these now and later is going to be from a collector point of view or to work on it. Not so much for immediate reliability like you would a newer car. That is where the salvaged title makes a difference. In the old cars/trucks, who really cares? Its actually a mark of pride that someone took the time to salvage the vintage steel and not let it go to the crusher like so many of its brethren!

Either way, I think this 70 is a pretty good buy at $2500 if the seller was to take it. It has been for sale so long now that I think he would probably settle for $2500 cash. And it seems that a decent amount of work was done to it so far, so it appears to be a very good buy for someone.
