Yesterday night I got my drill press, so I could drill my holes in the brackets. Works great and is fast and easy :D . So I spent the day practicing welding (finnaly got the co2/argon mix) with the new gas, the settings change when you switch from fluxed wire. So I got the left side bracket mounted. Its held on by 4 bolts, 2 on the side, 2 on the bottom..one on far back bottom is the bolt that holds the trans crossmember in place, I had to use it because my bracket was moved back right on top of it, and since its a 3/8" bolt, and all the others on the bracket are 1/2" grade 8, im gonna go to the ace and get a 3/8" grade 8 for it, so the bolt is going to be bolting to my bracket, the frame, and the crossmember. In the picture the bracket is only being held on by 3 bolts, the last one , which will be bolted to the bottom I still have to drill.

He's havin too much fun to worry bout that. Look's plenty stout and
rugged. I was lookin at some "Duff" brackets that don't look 1/2 as strong
as the ones he made. Boot's you should make some extra sets, and sell
them. Keith P

WHOA!
Hey Take a number and stand in line my Brother!
There's a whole bunch of us that have been Salivatin' ever since Brother Boots shared his Awesome project with US! :P so cool your jets and wait your turn!
Seriously Boots if you still do not have the desire to Fabricate, Market, Sell and reap in the Profits yourself a few of us FORDification Brothers should get together and make a Professional attempt at doing just that! :$$:
Naturally all the revenue created from our profits should go to the Maintainance of FORDification.com.
I'm sure Brother Keith wouldn't mind a little Financial Help. He's put so much into making this place a truly exceptional Entity.

Now Doesn't that sound like a solid Plan of Action?

I should have been done with this project a week or 2 ago. Now that I have ALL the materials in my garage to finish this project (except two 3/8" grade 8 bolts) I can finish this. But I wont be able to finish until I get back from england on Jan 5th, im leaving this saturday and tommorow Im just packing and all that junk. If any of you guys want some brackets, send me your stock ones, and I will weld, or bolt, them up to drop brackets just like I did mine. I will have to come up with a new design if anyone is wanting to drop the arms in the stock position, since the frame kindof tilts upwards.

btw, im weeks biggest idiot,.. When I was drilling through my frame with my cordless dewalt, I was in reverse for about 5 minutes until I realized that It was not doing anything at all.

FYI:
The only thing that proves is that you are human... :? :o :hmm: :burp:   :fr: Just like the rest of us Brothers :) .

Wouldn't it be cool if they made drill bits that functioned in either direction? :P

Hey Jake11!
You and I are just a stones throw from each other. I've got a 240v Lincoln Mig and a 240v Lincoln Stick welder (Just imagine the possibilities! ).

yea im back now :D I got the left side all done, the right side just needs to get the radius arm painted before I can put it back (waiting for this saturday, its suppose to be like 40 degrees, and then with the stove in my garage running as well it should be fine to paint) , after that I will mount the bracket to the frame and done! In the mean time im going to be working on my front bumper build, which should be done by the time saturday rolls around. Im also thinking of making a crossmember that bolts to the 2 brackets, out of 1.5"x1.5" square tube.
