getting better efficiency in a C-6

Post by F-100Ranger »

I read a while back on the FORDFE.com forum a couple of years back that the C-6 ate-up over 40hp.

I also read somewhere that some transmission company was able to rebuild them to run more efficiently. I think it was for racing. Can anyone out there help me find out who that was?

Nearly anyone who can rebuild it should be able to install a roller bearing kit.

See toward the bottom of this page.

As for actually buying it, try SummitRacing or give Jay at BroaderPerformance a call.

Also, run as low of a stall in the convertor as you can.

By low you mean like around 1500 rpms. For that matter, what is the standard stall speed for a C-6 converter? Was there a different stall speed for a truck vs car torque converter?
