70 xlt

Post by 70xlt »

I'm in the break in mode of frame off. I've put 200 miles on truck with guages working fine. Just now the gas, oil and temp guages quit working. I looked at the fuse panel at the left foot of firewall, No fuses seems to be blown, where should I look for the fuse? Keep in mind I took all the original wiring out and put the original back in after paint, all the wires and plugs seemed ok then.

thanks

Nearly certain it's your Instrument Cluster Constant Voltage Regulator.
It's either disconnected or it has died.
Part is specific for 1970, not interchangeable with '69 or '71, etc.
Easy fix, once you get the part.
Part mounts onto the back of the Instrument Cluster.
May be an additional piece between the CVR and the connector to it, it's a radio noise suppressor. If it's there, transfer it over to the new CVR when you install the new part.
