Build Years/Makes/Models: 1974 FORD F100
1974 FORD F250
1974 FORD F350
Units affected: 3080
Recall Number: 74V091000
Owner Notification Date: May 24, 1974

Component Description: SEATS: FRONT ASSEMBLY: RECLINER
Manufacturer Involved in This Recall: Ford Motor Company
Manufacturer Responsible for This Recall: Ford Motor Company
Report Received Date: June 5, 1974
Summary: Ford Campaign No. 123. Possibility that the front seat back latches achieve only partial engagement of the latch pawl and seat cushion striker as a result of mispositioning these latch components during the front seat assembly process.
Consequence: This condition could result in the seat back latch releasing under a force less than the load it was designed to hold, permitting the seat back to fold forward.
Remedy: Correct by inspecting and repositioning latches for proper engagements.
